Hello my name is Mr. Hedtke.

 I am very excited to be teaching 5th grade and to be on the faculty at Waupaca Middle School.  I started teaching in Waupaca over 20 years ago.  I was formally the Gifted and Talented Resource Teacher at WLC, Chain O'Lakes, Riverside and Westwood Elementary Schools. 

Before teaching, I attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  This is where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  My love of learning continues as I enjoy taking more graduate courses to improve myself both personally and professionally.

I strive to provide a nurturing environment for children in the classroom.  My goal is for my students to become lifelong learners and seekers of knowledge.  I also encourage my students to develop cooperative learning skills,  responsibility and problem solving skills.

My hobbies include working on my land where I have a cabin, reading, fishing, hunting, trapshooting and curling.
