The School District of Waupaca recognizes the benefit of community service for both students and the community. Waupaca High School students, partnered with the Waupaca Rotary Club and the Parent-Teacher group, have conducted several community service projects around the Waupaca area since 2006. The service projects take place in the spring, typically on the last early release day of the school year. All classes will be involved in these worthwhile efforts.
Each homeroom class determines and plans what service to perform. Groups have done highway cleanup, park cleanup, painting of the bleachers at Haberkorn Field, general maintenance and landscaping of the EXPO, Humane Society/HELP Shelter cleanup, volunteering at senior centers and elementary schools, and individual family help.
This year's service day was held on April 1, 2015.
