There is something for everyone!
Dear Waupaca Community,
On behalf of the School District of Waupaca’s Activities Department, I would like to invite and encourage all students to participate in our athletics and co-curricular offerings. Extra-curricular activities provide an opportunity for students to grow emotionally and socially as they mature into young adults. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a community that provided great access and opportunities to a variety of extra-curricular activities. That place was Waupaca, Wisconsin. My continued involvement in programs introduced me to great achievements, great failures, and most importantly wonderful leaders, mentors and an extended family that is hard to replicate through other means.
We will work together to provide positive experiences that are built around improving student skills that transfer through every stage of their life. Work ethic, time management, teamwork, humility, accountability, leadership, and compassion are just a few skills that extra-curricular programs provide students prepare for their adult lives.
It is our belief that every student should have access to these programs. With 47 combined athletic and co-curricular program offerings at the Waupaca High School, we believe there is an option for all students who wish to be involved. If a student feels differently, we would love to have a conversation with that student in hopes that we can assist and encourage their eventual involvement.
We would like to thank all of our District families who make their children’s involvement in these programs possible. Your time commitment, positive support and encouragement toward your children and their peers are what make their experiences successful. We also want to thank our local businesses who understand the importance these programs provide our students. Your support has come through monetary means, hands on involvement along with providing flexible work schedules that allow students to work while being involved and committed to their chosen activities.
Looking forward, we will strive to provide quality programs not as a single department, but as a community. We will look to collaborate with our countless community assets as we work to build the brightest future possible for all students in the School District of Waupaca.
Sincerely,
Aaron Jenson
Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities
